Two popular Portchester faces are heading up the new coaching team for the under-23s side.
Joe Noakes (pictured above) will be taking his first steps into football management with his new role after injury forced him to retire from playing.
He had already made the switch to coaching by joining the first team staff and he will still work with the senior squad alongside his under-23s duties.
He will be joined by Alex Baldacchino (pictured below) - the striker manages the club’s academy set up but he has no plans to hang up his boots as he will continue to be part of the first team squad as well as working with the under-23s set up.
Both need no introduction to the Royals’ faithful as they have been with the club for a number of seasons.
They will be popular appointments among supporters, keen to see two loyal club servants now working on bringing through the potential stars of the future from the youth ranks into the first team squad.
